So, here we are trying another one of Adam's ideas. This time it's a low carb, ketogenic diet to try and alleviate any overgrowth of bad bacteria in my intestines. We are trying this because fermented foods like kefir and kombucha cause me a little stress when consumed right now instead of being beneficial. Sounds yummy right!? Anyways the point to all this is that avocados have become a new favorite fatty food of mine. Therefore, today I have an easy guacamole recipe to share with all of you!
WOW! I can not believe that it has been over a month since I have done a blog post! First off, I do apologize for such a long absence. I would like to say that I was so dang busy that I couldn't do any posts but that wouldn't be completely true. I guess life just took over a little bit and I got distracted from my blogging. You wouldn't believe everything that has happened since my last post either!
I hope everyone had a great holiday weekend last week and if you're anything like me I bet this week just can't end soon enough. I don't know what it is about getting a little taste of a break from work and then all of a sudden the week after just seems to continue on forever! Of course it could also be the fact that I'm moving to Miami, FL in less than a month and I am all kinds of nervous but excited!
I know that it has been an incredibly long time since I posted phase 1 of making Kombucha (growing a scoby) but as I always say better late than never! Right!? Okay, well some of you may have found this extremely frustrating especially if you grew your scoby but then didn't know where to go from there. I do apologize. My scoby actually got moldy and yes that can happen to even an experienced kombucha maker person like me. So make sure you emphasize sanitation before starting your batch!
HaPpY BiRtHdAy to MoM, HaPpY BiRtHdAy to MoM, HaPpY BiRtHdAy dear…. It's my mom's birthday!!! She may think she's another year older but in my mind she's another year younger! ;) It's not a birthday without a birthday cake. When I asked my mom what she wanted she said a chocolate cake that's fluffy. I took that to mean that she pretty much wanted a regular chocolate cake but of course gluten-free and boy did I deliver! The taste of this cake is no different I swear. If you sampled it on the street you'd have no idea it was gluten-free I kid you not. Even my dad said he couldn't tell!
