Wine Jello Shots

I just couldn't resist trying this one out for myself! As soon as I saw it I knew it was perfect for me to try as a valentines day post! It's a simple 3 ingredient recipe that is great for any wine lover. Not the biggest wine fan? Buy some really sweet or really fruity wine then sweeten it up even more! It's that simple. But you all know that I love my simplicity.
We choose a nice local chocolate red wine so it'd make deep red hearts. We didn't think there could have been a better pick… wine and chocolate. Perfect! Just happened while making them that they develop a little froth on the top which added a nice pink cute side to them! I'm not the biggest fan of red wine so I guess it wasn't the best choice for me after all. But if you love wine then no worries this is definitely for you!
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 1/2 c wine (your choice)
- 3 tbsp gelatin
- honey (1 tbsp at a time to desired sweetness)
METHOD:
- In a sauce pan on the lowest setting possible heat the wine for a few minutes.
- 1 tablespoon at a time add the gelatin. I bought the box of the little packets. 1 package is close enough to a tablespoon.
- Whisk very very well after each addition.
- 1 tablespoon at a time add the honey. Technically you could add as much as you want until desired sweetness. But if you start with a wine you like from the beginning then you won't need to add much if any at all.
- Poor into individual molds or into a square pan and use heart shaped cookie cut outs. Let them cool in the fridge for about 2 hours.
