Crock Pot Ribs

Wednesday, November 06, 2013

Yes you've read the title correctly.  These ribs were made in a crock pot and they are actually pretty decent!  If you are anything like me when I first heard of this idea you are thinking that there is no way that these are any good and if they are it's just plain wrong!  But.... you've gotta try it.

It's way easier than slaving hours over making them in the kitchen or on the grill.  Plus if you like grilling them but you live in an area with lots of snow during the winter months that just might not be a realistic option. So why suffer and go through all of winter without ribs or being forced to go out to eat and spending lots of money on restaurant style ribs.

I am not going to say that they are better than the other ways of cooking them, but I will say that if cooked right they can come close!  Also, one reason we love crock-pot meals like this is not only because of the ease of cooking in them but because of the lack of clean up involved. This entire process only dirtied up the measuring cups/shot glass, the ceramic crock-pot dish, and the plates we used to eat the ribs.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 rack of Ribs, Pork or Beef
  • 1 shot of Whiskey
  • 4 splashes of Worcestershire sauce
  • Gluten free BBQ sauce
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Cayenne Pepper
  • Garlic Powder

METHOD:

  1. The day before thaw out the ribs.
  2. That night take all of the seasonings and rub all over the meat on all sides.
  3. Place them in the crock pot dish and put that in the fridge overnight.
  4. The next morning before going to work or going about your day slather them with BBQ sauce and splash that shot of Whiskey in there.
  5. Turn on to low and Enjoy at dinner time (8-10 hrs)!!
