Warning all nut lovers! You will die for these!!
These things are mighty amazing if I do say so myself. It's got butter, -- one of my favorites if you haven't figured that out by now ;] -- pecans, and a bit of gluten-free flour mixture. Plus they are rolled in confectioners' sugar for the final step. I don't know how something could sound much better. They seemed to make good Christmas presents too. Lucky for me since I was going for the homemade touch type gifts this year.
I hope everyone had a great and Merry Christmas!! Mine was quiet but warm! Some people may be jealous of that fact but it's just not the same without a cold, white Christmas and a loud (sometimes bickering) family. ;] I know that it's technically past Christmas day but it's not past New Years. New Years parties require just as many goodies as Christmas parties do! Therefore, today I have for you a traditional spritz cookie recipe but of course it is a gluten-free version!
chocolate chip and pecan banana bread
Chocolate Chip & Pecan Banana Bread - GF
Thursday, September 18, 2014If you guys read my last post you know that I had quite the time trying to make this banana bread! I guess all things happen for a reason and it was for the best that it didn't turn out the first time. This time I was able to add a couple of ingredients that I didn't have on hand last time (and that I forgot to pick up) that I think just made it 10 times better!
HaPpY BiRtHdAy to MoM, HaPpY BiRtHdAy to MoM, HaPpY BiRtHdAy dear…. It's my mom's birthday!!! She may think she's another year older but in my mind she's another year younger! ;) It's not a birthday without a birthday cake. When I asked my mom what she wanted she said a chocolate cake that's fluffy. I took that to mean that she pretty much wanted a regular chocolate cake but of course gluten-free and boy did I deliver! The taste of this cake is no different I swear. If you sampled it on the street you'd have no idea it was gluten-free I kid you not. Even my dad said he couldn't tell!
I have no idea what happened to me but the week just got away from me! I made this recipe on Sunday fully intending to have it posted on Tuesday and then the next thing I know it's Wednesday! I wasn't feeling so good on Wednesday afternoon either so I didn't get it written then. So, here I am sitting in a truck after finishing my book a day routine (well almost) and decided I'd try writing it up on an iPad as I have nothing but time sitting out here watching a T-Hanger being built.
This is the last for the morel mushroom recipes that I've tried this year. I've heard from several people that this is their favorite way of adding morels to a meal. Partially because you can freeze the morels depending on if you have too much to be able to eat fresh and the other part is because it's just pure deliciousness. Especially if you dip it in some garlic butter sauce! ;) Which just happens to be a favorite to do with any pizza with my family.
I am so excited to share this one with everyone! First of all, this is my first time making a gluten free bread. Second, I was so excited about this recipe because it has less carbs than "normal bread." Meaning the main ingredient in this bread is actually full-fat yogurt instead of flour! I also cut down on the carbs by using Stevia instead of sugar. Also, I don't know about you but we absolutely love all things citrus!
